Steve, AAFA is concentrating on KY families this year in preparation for the Paducah meeting in October. I don't know the exact connection for your Henry right now but will be happy to work with you to figure it out.According to the 1880 census he was born about 1858.He is missing in 1900.Are you sure he died in 1905?What are the dates on his tombstone? Lincoln Co. was the center of a large Alford family and there are several male Alfords (who we know were married) who disappear in the 1860-1880 time frame. Several supposed descendants did end up in Jefferson County.Henry was not one we knew about. Was Henry married before? In 1880, he and Mary have two sons--Harrie (age 4) and William (age 2) as well as a daughter who is 4 months old (Mary D.).Any additional information you can add may help to connect him and perhaps if we can show connections with other Jefferson Co. Alfords, that would also help. Any additional information (birth dates, marriages, etc.) on the children would also be appreciated. If we can determine his parents, we can probably add at least three more generations to his ancestry. In the genealogy of this family (Garrard/Mercer/Lincoln/Washington Co. KY) the only Henry born about that time supposedly died in 1861 at less than a year of age.Where did evidence of his middle name come from?
