Kevin, I have been researching Ohio ALfords for the past year and I am familiar with Stephen and Rebecca who moved to Nebraska around 1880 from Lawrence CO.,OH.Specifically, I'm looking for the descendants of John and Margaret WIlson Alford. Margaret was the younger sister of my great-greatgrandfather Robert Wilson.I've used the websites you mentioned and have found a lot of information, and also on the Cass Co., NE GenWeb site. I have some additional info on Nannie ALford who married George MacReynolds, but would like to find out more info on Stephen's other children and their descendants. My cousin hopes to publish soon a book on the descendants of Stephen Wilson(Margaret's father) and we would like to add as many relatives as possible. Just last month I ordered Stephen's Pension File from NARA in hopes of discovering who his father was. I have a 1857 Lawrence Co., deposition stating that Stephen's mother was Nancy Alford, an older daughter of John and Margaret. Census records seem to indicate she lived with her parents until her death but no husband has been given. Do you know anything about this? Have any clues? I have found extensive data on the Allens who descended from Lucretia ALford, and some on the Suttons who descended from Risby Jane. Do you know about a Stephen, James or Sarah Alford who married in Lawrence CO. in the 1820's? I have assumed they were either Margaret's stepchildren or John's nephews and niece. They were not listed as children of margaret in the deposition I referred to above. I would be happy to exchange information with you on our families.
