Also, doesn't P.L have a son named "Peyton?"Peyton was too old to be a son of Job.Job was not married until about 1791.That pretty much leaves Goodrich, Job's brother, as Peyton's father.I am assuming with the close proximity and similar migration patterns, that there is a close kinship to Job and family.
By the way, I did clear up the Julius C. Alford (probable son of Job)in Jones, Upson, and Talbot County. He married Elizabeth Gay and died around 1849.Talbot County records show that his orphan son, Columbus Americus Alford, was handed over to his maternal grandfather, John Gay.Columbus' brother, Thomas Lafayette Alford, was the progenitor of the Clay and Tallapoosa County, Alabama Alfords.
