I think the Jacob in Louisa County VA, who married Nacy Hunter was the son of this James. We can only assume this James was the brother of the rest of the clan that moved to NC. There are no records I know of that show that James moved to NC with the rest of them?
There was an elderly Lucy living with Old John of Rutherford County in the 1790 census. She was also in the 1800 census but not in the 1810. Killes Alford was the son of Old John of Rutherford. He had signed away the property with a couple of his brothers after Old John had died, sometime before the 1800 census.
Killes had married Elizabeth Jones in 1795 in Rutherford County. He was the father of John, born in 1806, who married Dirisa Lunsford in 1826 in Rutherford and moved to KY in 1828. This John was my great-great-great grandfather. His son, Daniel, had a son named James, aka as Jim Doe Alford, who I remember as a small kid. He was very elderly at the time. He was married to Mary Collins, part Cherokee Indian, although she did not know how much.
Jim Doe had a son named Homer, who was my grandfather, who had a son named Bill, who was my father. I hope some of these facts mixed with a little speculation will help someone? If you find out any more info about Old James of Fluvanna County or Lucy, email me.
