You can download a membership application for the Alford association at www.alfordassociation.org.Select the membership information option from the home page and scroll down to about midpage and you will see a link to a membership application. The $25 annual dues may sound steep but most of that goes to pay for 400-500 pages of Alford information annually which comes in the form of the quarterly publication. It is indexed and commercially printed and bound. We have over 1200 members who are spread over most of the states, Canada, England, Spain and Australia.
Attendance at the annual meeting/reunion is not required. We meet in a different state each year in October.
We love Missouri.Came here to work in 1960 and like it so well we elected to retire here when work was done.
The association has a photo archive maintained by a couple in Plano, Texas. They keep the 1000's of photos in a bank vault.A few are on the web site and they have plans to add many more. Many of them are on display on poster boards and in 3-ring albums at each of the annual meetings. They would be delighted to add any photos that you have to the collection. One does not have to be a member of the association to contribute or receive photos.I'll send you a private email with their address.
We have recently begun to post scanned copies of source documents like birth, death and marriage certificates on the website. We would be happy to post yours.
The association does not really "need" any information.I'll send you a copy of what we currently have in the computer in the private email. If you would like to have any of your data added to that then we would be pleased to have it to include.
In case I did not give it in an earlier message the association address is: AAFA, POB 1297, Florissant, MO 63031.
