Hello, my name is John Alford, and we had a Job Alford in our line, as well. The following is the line from my grandfather back. John Rogers(my cousin) is an expert on our line of the Alford Family. Seems we could have been on the relief ship to James City, in 1610, which was blown to the Carribean and was the topic of , Shakespear's "The Tempest". He sent me the following: Great to see your post. I guess I am considered the expert on Northwest Florida Alfords. I have done a ton of research over the last 30 years. I ma from De Funiak Springs and know your family, at least down to your grandfather John Richard Alford. You have many relatives still in Samson, Alabama, which is just north of the Alabama/Forida line and about 35 miles from De Funiak Springs. I will give you your line from Edgar Lee back below, but please help me fill in from your father and his siblings down. As you can see, I have virtually nothing on his father. I also feel weak on his siblings. Yor gr grandfather was Edward Gillespie Alford (a wonderful man), his father was Richard Redden Alford, his father was Henry Miles Alford, his father was Job Alford, his father was Julius Alford, his father was James Alford, and his father was William Alford. The Alfords came to the James City Colony of Virginia about 1610 or so.
