We have quite a bit of background on Charles although we don't have any descendants past the 1920 census (they were in Randolph Co. AR) and the information from the Cotton Creek Cemetery.This family goes back to a John Alford born c1786 in NC.He is first found in Grainger Co. TN in 1804 when he is an orphan bound out to become a miller.He married Jane McElhatten in 1811 there and moved to several different TN counties before his family split up, a few staying in TN and the rest going to MO and AR just after 1850.Two sons, John and Orlando Dixon, went to Dallas Co. MO, and Charles is a great grandson of John.Charles' parents were William O. Alford and Martha/Mary Cordelia Hays, both of whom are also buried in Cotton Creek Cemetery with Charles and Stella.We can provide much on his background and will be happy to share information.We would also like to have any descendants down to the present time that you can provide. In 1920, the children of Charles A. and Stella were Fay, Golda, Sylva and Delphia.
