Ann, Thank you for posting so quickly!! you wrote: >>, as I come from the Alfreys you are researching. It >>is ?? my Father that is an Alfrey. Am so sorry to hear about your mum, i will keep you both in my thoughts that she will recover soon. Remember to give yourself a breather now & then, you can do her no good if you get totally stressed & sick your self- so sit a spell & have a good cuppa tea! (my brit friends taught me that trick!):o)
I will look forward to hearing from you when you can spare the time: as you can see what i have is a mess and most confusing and to add to that i just recieved from another poster the following info:
"According to our records Alice Ethel is a sister to >John William Alfrey, Henry Walter Alfrey, Jessie Ann and Ernest >Fred(erick)...not the daughter of ...albeit possible he did have a >daughter named Alice.John, Henry, Jessie etc. did have additional >siblings. Alice Ethel's mother was Emily Clara Scott b 1858 in >Plumstead, Kent"
so it is quite obvious that my current information past Henry Walter is most suspect as far as accuracy!
I did find some interesting info at the Ellis Island site:
>>>According to Ellis Island records Henry Walter age 24yrs and Kate Eleanor age 21 yrs and Phyllis age 8yrs arrived in US on 6 Apr 1911 from England on the “Majestic” out of Cherbourg, Mariche, France.
(the math is scary—if this is their daughter, Kate was 13 when Phylis was born!@ also We show Phyllis as born in 1909 (she would have been 2 not 8 so am very very puzzled- is this a sister not a daughter?? And would ellis island have listed a 2 yr old at all????
hoping things are better and will hear from you and any others who might want to post rj firstname.lastname@example.org
