Hello Sarah, I have just read your message. I am also related to Ann, and I think you may be descended from one of the two brothers of my great grandfather. I know they were living in Birmingham in 1881, having been born in East Grinstead. One brother was Henry ALFREY , a coach painter , living at a place called habergham Eaves, aged 58 in `1881, with several children, including one son also called henry aged 18, wheelwright. The other was william ALFREY coachmaker, aged 52 with5 children including William 12, John Alfred 8, Frederick 3 and Earnest Richard, 7 mths. I think it is very likely that you are descended from one of these people, so what you need to do is get some birth and marriage certificates to establish this. I note that the name is spelt exactly the same as my ALFREYs. Please get back to me. I have lots more info going back from those people, if you can only establish that they are your ancestors. I am in NZ, but have been able to research faitly easily from here using my local Mormon FHC. Prue.
