Hi Sarah, I thought Id get back to you, and see what you have found out. At present i am trying to find out about john ALFREY , the brother of my Great grandfather, who was a witness ar my GGfathers wedding. I have a battered family tree, with some unconfirmed info on it , and it gives John ALFREY dying in 1917. I have checked the indexes and sure enough there is a John Adying at that time, but i am not sure it is the right one. However the place of death is wellington, Shropshire, which is the same place as one of the Fredericks I found for you. So..... I thought that Frederick might be a grandson of John, and John was living with his son and family in his old age ( he was 86 at death). I will send for some certificates if necessary, but im hoping that you might already have done so?? My tree also has MD after Johns name so I am trying to confirm that he was a doctor. Johns sons , that i know of were Harry, Arthur james, and Walter. John appears to have lived in Plumstead, London,Birmingham, Ashton under Lyne and possibly other places. If we can establish the connection , then I have quite a bit i can share with you. Prue.
