I want to alert all of you on this message board that if you don't want YOUR living fimily posted on the Internet in a gedcom in Sandra June Skokut Santmyer's (email addy email@example.com) information, I suggest that you do not share that info with her. My full name, my husband's name and our chI ild's name are all posted in her gedcom. My parents are also and are very much alive, none of us are all that old either, my daughter is barely of legal age. I do not appreciate living individual's being listed in this manner. We are researching our ROOTS our ANCESTOR's I am nobody's root or ancestor except my daughter's niether is my husband, let alone Sandra Santmyer's. I have contacted Ms. Santmyer twice in the last few months, asking her to please take our names off at least our first names at ther very least. There was something that occurred yesterday stemming from Sandra Santmyers posting of my family's names on the Internet in her gedcom that was very startling and caused some anxiety for my parents and I. Since Ms. Santmyer has chosen to ignore my plea's I am posting here hoping that she at least monitor's THIS board and to alert anyone who doesn't want their names and their living family's names shouted from the Internet. We ALL deserve our privacy and protection from what could stem from this. Ancestry.com etc does not condone this and Genealogy.com probably doesn't either. AGAIN, this is genealogy NOT the U.S.CENSUS, NOT the Social Security Administration, NOT the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT who know who and where we all are (most of the time). Sandra Santmyer's gedcom's are none of these agencies. WHY Ms. Santmyer would you even want to do this without the living person's permission???? If you want to put YOUR family OUT THERE, be my guest, that is YOUR choice, I am NOT your ancestor Ms. Santmyer, neither is my immediate family. I will continue to look into this matter to ascertain what steps can be taken and will continue until you delete my name from your gedcom. Your the type of "name collector" that is going to interfere with genealogist's all over the country if you persist in throwing this type of information up on the Internet, there is no reason for this whatsoever.
