Sometimes it seems confusing when trying to sort out who belongs to whom...it's reminds me of math! Mary "Polly" Aliff who married John Jarrett listed HER parents William Aliff and Sophia Edwards (according to the info given to me by another Aliff researcher). Among Mary's brothers was supposed to have been Alexander B Thompkins Aliff and Cicero Aliff (Sid). Sid had, among his other children, a son named Otha J. Aliff (b. June 3, 1887) and who was married to Hattie L. Watkins. He had the following children: Allen, Irene, Viola, Ruby, Page, and Eugene. Otha was said to be of some Native American heritage and his wife was said to have been, also. I know that Otha certainly looked Native American. And, as I have stated previously, I looked-up the Civil War records on A. B. T. Aliff and some of the other Aliffs, and they were described as being short in height, 5'7", "dark complexion, black hair, hazel eyes". Perhaps the info given to me by the other Aliff reseacher was not accurate relative to the named parents, William Aliff and Sophia Edwards.
