Sarah (All?) Myers, NY>Galliia OH 1840's
Note found in papers of Dr. Charles E. Myers of VA, 1888-1974:
"This is what Mertie (Merlie?) Franklin gave me from memory. I suppose George Franklin has the family tree. I would like to see it. Imogene worked on it after her mother died. 'The Myers family settled in Woodstock Virginia then moved to Pa. Did not like Pa so moved back to Woodstock. [backing up]Stephen Myers married Rose Kebasha, came from Baden Baden or Alsace Lorraine. Their son John was born on the ocean. He married Rachel Rosebaugh. They had: William [who] married Matilda Jividen (French), John m. Sarah Aul* (?), James m. Christie Ann Walker, Mary m. John Myers and then John Curtis, Romaine m. Henry Bryan, and Rachel m. Dr. Litch. William is our Grandfather'."**
*Riverboat pilot John S. MYERS m. Sarah HALL, 1849. But the 1850 Gallia Co., OH Census shows John MIRES 35 OH, Sarah MIRES 19 NY, Romain MIRES 6/12 OH & Amelia ALL 15 NY [Sarah's sister?] Marriage Records in
Gallia Co & on the IGI listing Sarah as Hall may be wrong. The IGI age date of birth 1831 & NY matches Sarah Mires [nee All?].
**This "document" is supported by court & census records in Gallia & Lawrence Co., OH & Lawrence Co., KY. I believe there's a generation missing & that the order was: Stephen-1, John-2 b. on boat [1737 according to Dr. Myers' book] John-3 m. Rachel Rosebrock, 1811 in Fred. Co, VA, moved to Gallia Co., OH by 1830. There Wm. R.-4 Myers m. Matilda Jividen.
