Aimee: Your father was the son of Joseph K. Allamong and Virginia Thrush. They had four children.Forrest the eldest, Leda, Ola, and Olive. They were the half brother and sisters of my father. After the death of Virginia, Joseph K. Allamong married my grandmother, Susan Gertrude Rogers and they had five children: Alta Allamong Porter, Paul Rogers Allamong, Gladson Welch Allamong,Eldon Allamong and my father Virgil Clayton Allamong Sr.I have been able to trace the Allamong Family back to their arrival in North America in 1741. I know nothing much about Forrests family, since (as you know) families tended to have falling outs and some went on their different ways.I never had the opportunity to know Uncle Forrest, but I have met all of his sisters, stepsister and stepbrothers.Eldon above died in infancy. My Uncle Paul Allamong named his son after my Uncle Eldon.
Your greatgrandmother's father was (I believe John Welch). You would have to trace out the Welch Family to follow her lineage.I do have some information on the Welches since my great grandmother was also a Welch.I do have a family decendant's chart beginning with Johann Allemong's arrival in America.
You might be interested to know that my name is is Joseph Kaspar Allamong. My Grandfather was Joseph Kaspar Allamong and my Greatgreat grandfather was Coloner Casper Rinker who served in the Revolutionary Way, making his decendants elegible for the Daughters of the Revolutionry and the Colonial Dames.
If you would like a copy of the decendants charts please let me know.I am only too happy to share the information that I have with my relatives.
