I have seen reference to an ALLAN/ALLEN born there at a later date :-

James Gemmell ALLAN/ALLEN , born about 1844 , Paisley , Renfrew , Scotland.

He came to New Zealand , where he married a Mary Margaret CAINES.
I think Margaret's father was Scots-born.
