I am currently researching family tree - my grandfather was Robert Allan Bn 1/5/1885 at Hutcheon Street, Aberdeen, Scotland - birth registered at St, Nicholas parish church, Aberdeen on 18/5/1885.
Robert had a brother named William and a sister named Jean - no further information on either.
Parents were Robert Allan and Elsie Gordon married 29/5/1880 at Huntley, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
St Nicholas Church still exists.
My Grandfather, Robert Allan died 14/5/1965, He served in Royal Horse Artillery, World War 1 - fought at battle Mons 1914 and wounded at Battle Yrpes 1915 (injured in 1st poison gas attack by German Forces)
I have photograph of him in military uniform circa 1905-1914 - it may be possible to scan into computer and transmit - Allan family appearance is fairly strong - big ears and bright, piercing blue eyes.
Robert's brother William was tall and is remembered by my Aunt, who is now in late 60's.(youngest child of Robert Allan)
I do suspect that the my Allan family had some agricultural link in the Aberdeen area in the late 1800's
I would hope that we could be of mutual assistance
