I am searching for further info about John Allan who was apparently quite a famous man during the Rev. War.He was an Indian Agent hiring several Micmac Indians from Nova Scotia to fight in the Army. He was apparently the eldest son of William Allan who was one of the earliest settlers of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This John Allan was said to have been born in Edinburgh Castle in Scotland on Jan. 3, 1746. (per Spragues Journal of Maine History).
If anyone has further info on this John Allan I would be very happy to learn about him especially his family.I am very suspicious that he may have hired one of my Micmac ancestors and this is my specific interest.
