I just happened to be browsing Genforum and found your 2001 post. I am not and Allan and there is a question about their ownership of the cemetery. I can provide you with much of it's history if you are still interested. It was started in 1835 on lands belonging to my 3rd Great Grandfather, Col Isaac M Johnson, when he lost two sons and his wife to Yellow Fever. Until sometime after 1900 it was known as The Johnson Cemetery. How and when it became Allan is not quite clear but it has been known as first Allen and then recently Allan for my 66 years at least. There are Allen descendants of Isaac which probally accounts for the later change. Many of my ancestors and other relations are buried there and I have been involved with it's maintance all of my life.
If you are still interested in information please let me know. There is a cemetery census that I did in2001 that provides some connections between those buried there. It can be found on the Shelby County Historial Society web site
