That's great news. Where are you in the family tree? Can you possibly email me the family history from 1852: firstname.lastname@example.org
I read an article in a Scottish newspaper on Sigurd Garden (my father's cousin & a gr grandson of Barbara Allan)that his family "were poor land squatters on the slopes of Bennachie, Abderdeen, in the early 19th century. So I'm not sure whether that refers to the Allans or Gardens. I know that John Garden was born in Rayne, Aberdeen.
Presume you know this: Barbara and Robert Allan's parents are James Allan and Isobel/Isabella Cruikshank. Robert born 1804; William b. 1793; Elisabeth b. 1796; Isobel b. 1798; Jean b. 1802. No mention of Barbara on the International Genealogical Index though she was born approx. 1812. I hope I've got this right.
