I knew as I left your uncle's grave site that I would try to contact his family, not knowing if any of you were still around. It just seemed like a very human thing to do, and not extraordinary at all. I was amazed at the quick response. I was prepared for a long wait for a reply, or none at all. The American Cemetery is beautiful, and we were lucky to be there ahead of all of the GIs and dignitaries that arrived for this weekend. It looks out over the water, is very peaceful and very well kept. We took pictures and will be happy to share them with you when my husband learns how to email them. Best wishes to all of you.
