Allard's in New York State

Can anyone help me find out info on where my Allard roots come from? The Allard family I am part of came to Buffalo New York, from Southern California. My known relatives are now in Buffalo, and Utica, and I know of another Allard in New York Mills (although I am not sure if we are related.)
Any information that I can get would be great.
