Am searching for information on George Allard, who lived in Montreal from approximately 1840 - 1870.He and his wife, Olive departed Montreal in a covered wagon in 1870, wnet through The Port of Duluth, Minnesora, and eventually settled in British Amaerica, near present-day Neche, North Dakota - he homesteaded there, farming, and also working as a carpenter.
When George and Olive (maiden name was Barthune) left Montreal, they had one child, a Daughter, whom I believe was named Mary Louise.Other children were to follow after the move to Neche, one of them being my Grandfather, George Noel Allard.George Noel then fathered my Dad, George (no middle name), in 1911.
I am most interested in history on my great gradfather's life in Montreal, and of the Allard history in the family homeland, France.
I believe that my Great Grandfather lived near The old Notre Dame Cathedral. He may have had a residence on Rue St. Nicholas Tolotine, possibly in an apartment - #20.
All information forwarded will be greatly appreciated.
