After a hiatus of a couple of years, I'm back to work on my twig of the family tree. I've located my Grandfather & grandmother, R. A. & Laura Allardyce in Iowa, circa 1880. I have yet tomake a connection with his membership of the governing board of The Inventors' Institute in London - circa 1862. My aunt Muriel Allardyce-Dye gave me some old news clippings linking us to Sir William Lamond Allardyce, one time governor of Falkland Islands, Bahama Islands & Tasmania. I also have some hand written letters to R. A. Allardyce about both his invention of the wind schute (sic) and the life boat davit. I'll be happy to share copies. Can anybody fill in any blanks? Best wishes, Robert W. son of William R, grandson of R.A.
