I like to research old portraits. Currently I am working on a charcoal portrait of a 'Samuel Allcock, JPCC' (Justice of the Peace Circuit Court?)In the picture his birth is dated, "NATUS 1828", and death, "OBIT 1910". So the picture was likely drawn 'post mortem'. The dates are oddly similar to those of the subject Samuel Allcock in these postings. The picture was drawn by a Canadian artist, W. St. Thomas Smith (1862 - 1947.) So now you have a Canadian connection! Does anyone know anything about the history of Samuel Allcock, JPCC 1828 - 1910?
