Dear Betty: Here is what I have on Emily King Allen written by one of their Grandchildren in the Rhea County Tennessee Book. "Nancy Emily King, rode in 1865, to marry a Confederate Soldier, Valentine Collins Allen. She married him on February 13, 1866, Meigs Co. Tenn. After the war, Valentine C. practiced law in Decatur, Tenn. In 1887, he and Grandmother moved to Dayton,Rhea Co. Tn. V.C. Allen served in the Tennessee Legislature. In 1911, he was appointed by the Tennessee Govenor, as Chancellor of the 12th. Dist. Court. This district was comprised of 15 counties. He wrote a book "Rhea & Meigs Counties,Tn. To this union was born 5 children: Fannie,Jennie,Ann, Will, and Maude." Emily Worth Smith, GranddaughterI also have that Emily's father was a Dr. King in Meigs Co. Tn. and that her mother was a Lillard and her uncle was Col. Lillard who was the commanding office of Valentine's Confederate army battalion and how he met her.This is all I have but thought it might give you some ideas about them.Hope it connects.
