Hi Marian. My Allen tribe centre around Hampshire, but I do have some living in York from 1880. Unfortunately there is no connection with Emma.However, I have the 1881 census on CD and so I ran James Limbert.There is only one that could fit the bill. Aged 40 in 1881 and employed as a saddler, he was living in Palmer Lane, York, with his family of four children. He was a widower at that time and so Emma must have died.One of his offspring was called Emma, which is a good confirmatory sign.
