I have read the posts here that refer to several men named Reuben Allen, one of whom apparently descended from a Plymouth Colony family.
My line includes a Reuben Allen, with wife Mary, said to be the parents of Deborah Allen who married Jacob Rambo who fathered Margaret Rambo c. 1757 in Rockingham Co., VA. I have frequently seen Reuben and Mary given as parents of Deborah, in LDS records and elsewhere, but without any documentation.
Can anyone comment on the source of the claim that Reuben and Mary were parents of Deborah? And can anyone clarify the relationship among the several Reuben Allens given below?
These records, taken from Chalkley's Chronicles of Augusta County, VA, show what appear to be 3 men named Reuben Allen in Augusta Co, VA:
REUBEN 1) d. betw. 30 Aug 1750 and 28 May 1751, apparently at about the same time as Mary Allen, and administered by Ingbor Allen, possibly a daughter. Mary's estate wasadministered by Jackson and Joseph, possibly sons.
REUBEN 2) d. bef. 20 Apr 1763
REUBEN 3) d. 1779, wife Lydia, 5 children
Reuben 1 and Reuben 2 appear to be related, with Cornelius Ruddle the name that connects them. Does anyone know of documentation of that relationship?
