I have a family Bible with the inscription: "Allen ROSMAN's Bible, Bought March 20th, 1827." In the Family Record section are the following entries: MARRIAGES -- "Allen ROSMAN + Mary S. ALLING were Married August 20th 1835." BIRTHS -- "Allen ROSMAN born March 13th, 1813, Mary S. ALLING was born December 6th, 1815, Anna C. ROSSMAN was born October 9th, 1838." (The spelling of ROSMAN/ROSSMAN is inconsistent). The Bible was published in New York in 1822. It is large and in poor condition. It was printed on inexpensive paper, which is badly foxed (brown spots) and crumbling at some edges. Its interior is mostly intact and I would love to send it to descendants or relatives of Allen ROSMAN and Mary (ALLING) ROSMAN. I have found an IGI record of their marriage at FamilySearch.org (they were married in Port Gibson, Ontario, New York) but nothing else. The Bible apparently came into my family as a gift to my great-grandmother, who was a book collector. The friend who gave it to her lived in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
