To: Lowell Young: I have never heard of a "Lucy" in Jesse Crawford Allen's family. There is so much information on the RootsWeb that is wrong. Jesse was either born on a ship, the "Robert and Alice" just before it arrived on the S. Carolina coast or was born shortly after on shore. He first married Anna Tanner and had 11 children with her. He then married my Great Grandmother, Nancy Hedden, who already had one child named Susie Weaver. After Jesse and Nancy married, he and Nancy had twelve more children together. That's 24 children. From the first marriage there was a boy named William "Bill" who was somehow crippled. Jesse had lots of animals on his big farm in Polk County, TN. Jesse built little Bill a wagon and fixed it so it could be pulled by a goat. This is how Bill went everywhere. I want to find out how old he was when he died. I have been to the cemetery where Jesse is buried but haven't sorted the whole thing out about where the children are buried. I do have the names of the children. I think Anna, the first wife is buried near Turtletown, TN. Nancy the 2nd wife, my G Grandmother, is buried near where I was born at Bear Paw Cemetery near Murphy, NC. She died at our family home (Berrong) with cancer of the face several years after Jesse died. She was living with my grandmother, Oma Lee Allen Berrong, when she died. Oma Lee was the 23rd child of Jesse. She is sometimes found listed as "Naomi" Allen in the census.
Oma Lee was married to Harvey Monroe Berrong, only son of Julius LaVador Berrong who was the son of Andrew Jackson Berrong who was the son of Henry N. Berrong, a frenchman born in Holland. He had a brother named William but we can't find him. (YET)
My mother was the 3rd child of Oma and Harvey and her name is Janet Michelle Berrong Patterson b: 1919. I am her only daughter, my name is: Janet Michelle Patterson Chiodo b: 1939
I go by Michelle My private e-mail is: email@example.com
