James you list your middle name as "Ford".Could you tell me if it is a family name? Are you connected to "Fords"?The reason I'm asking is that I have been trying to find who Columbus H. Allen's (b. 1848 Ga) parents were?He married Rachel E. Lloyd in Alabama.Their daughter Lula "Lou" Allen married Caleb Milton Ford.I have my Ford line back to the early 1700's in Virginia, then SC, GA and AL.Milton and Lou were my grandparents. Their chldren were named, Harden, Charlie Otis, Truman, Joe Wheeler, Gladys, Ona Bell, Ola Mae, and Grady Allen Ford.None of these names are "Ford" or "Lloyd" names. All the other Fords named their children with some of the Ford names, as did the Lloyds.Makes me wonder if these were "Allen" names. But, unless I can find to whom Columbus H. Allen belonged, I won't know.
What few elders there are left in the family know nothing or will tell nothing on Columbus H. Allen.I only know that he must have been married twice as he names 4 daughters in his will, and the family only knew about two, Lula E. Allen (Ford) and Nancy "aunt Lummie" C. Allen (Martin). He also names Mary A. Allen, and Cyntha Wilemon/man as daughters.Rachel Lloyd only had Lula and Nancy. So somewhere there is another wife or at least another mother of the other two daughters.
So far, I haven't been able to connect C.H. Allen to anyone else in any of my lines. And as I have found out in my research there is never just one connection in this family! If you have any information on this Columbus H. Allen, you will be my HERO for life.
