I am very interested in the Bennett R. you show as a son of Richard Allen. I have been searching for parents of my g-g-g-g grandfather Bennett Allen for a long time, though I am not sure that he is the same as the one you have listed. Bennett Allen of Marion Dist., SC, was granted a passport to travel through the Indian Nations on Apr 17, 1812. A Binet Allen is shown living in Marion Co., GA, in the 1830 census and in Macon Co., created from Marion, in the 1840 census. Bennet Allen & wife Jane are living in Washington Co., FL, in 1850 census; it looks like his place of birth is SC but microfilm is so bad, it could be NC; Jane is born in VA. They are living near Irwin Bennett. By 1860 census Bennett has apparently died and Jane is living in household of Newell Allen (my g-g-g grandfather) in Jackson Co., FL, which is adjacent to Washington Co. Newel had sons named William, Bennett, Joel & John, and daughters named Georgiann Martha A., Johanna, Jane Elizabeth, Drucilla, Ella Fair, Tabitha Ann, and Della.
There also was a Richard Allen living in Jackson Co. about 1850, but I assumed he was a land speculator and had no connection to my Allens.
