On 8 November 1832, in Pike Co., GA. Mary Ann (Allen)Hester and a Robert Allen were appointed administrators of the estate of Mary Ann's husband, Wyatt Hester, who evidently died intestate.
We had been told that Robert was Mary Ann's father, but I received information today that he was her brother.
On 3 May 1843, Mary Ann (Allen)Hester and Robert Allen signed a pre-nuptual agreement between Mary Ann (Allen) Hester and Thomas B. Wilkinson which states that Thomas B. Wilkinson will have no interest in the property of Mary Ann (Allen) Hester from the estate of her late husband Wyatt Hester or any property she might receive from her father. This would indicate that her father, whoever he was, was still alive in 1843.
I have read several of the other messages on this forum relative to the Allens of Pike Co., GA, and it is interesting to note that the son-in-law of Mary Ann (Allen) Hester, David Green Heflin, named the first child from his second marriage "Young Drurie."
Mary Ann Hester, d/o Mary Ann Allen and Wyatt Hester, and David Green Heflin are my g-g-grandparents.David Green Heflin and Mary Ann Hester were married in Pike Co., GA in 1836.David Green Heflin was the s/o William Wyatt Heflin and Mary Rebecca Richards.
