Please don't find any Fords while you are out there, I don't think I could take it.I have seen a lot of things on a George Allen, but I haven't been able to connect him with my Allens. One of my first "Allen" contacts, thought that my Columbus Allen and her George Allen might have been father and son, which wasn't the case.If I just had a sibling's name to run with, I might be able to find out something, but it's like my Columbus H. Allen just appeared one day like magic.
Now to Nathaniel Wofford.I'm pretty sure that my Nathaniel Wofford b. 1770 and Nathaniel Wofford b. 1766 are two separate people, or else he was living in two separate states at the same time, married to two women at the same time and having children with these two women at the same time.I know from records that Nath. 1766 was the son of William Wofford. He is pretty much documented in Bartow Co. GA.I thought that he was my Nath. and I have quite a bit on his line, then I find out that he and my Nath. are two different people. But, as usual they named some of their kids the same names, making it even harder to straighten out.I don't know if my Nathaniel or the other Nathaniel was the one connected to Meley Jane.Does anyone have a birth date or death date for Meley Jane? What about children of hers?
Comfort Snow was supposed to have been married to a Cornfeld Pruitt/Prewitt before she married Nathaniel.I looked on the Spartanburg Co. census, and I only found one Snow family at the time period. She was a widow lady with several children at home.I don't have her name handy at the time.I believe she may be the mother of my Comfort Snow, as Nathaniel and Comfort Wofford only lived a couple of homes away from her.I'm not even sure anymore that Comfort Snow was a Native American, I haven't found any proof of it, and no one that has written the info. that she was, has shown any proof.I hope like mad that she was Native American, but face it, Snow is also a very very old English name.
