Judy, thanks for the reply! I've come to the conclusion that no two Allens are kin to each other. I think there are more Allens than there are Smiths, yet, when you go to searching for yours, they have left no traces. Perhaps when people wanted to hide away, years ago, they just changed their name to Allen. I told my wife that it may be best not to know of the dastardly deeds of my ancestors. They may have all been on the most wanted list in all the Post Offices or else married to people they shouldn't be, or else weren't married at all. Whatever, they left no traces. There were nine children in my grandfather's group and twenty offsprings of theirs. Yet I can't even find out where any of them are or what state they came from or any info on them.
