Jack & S.A., Thank you both for responding to my message regarding Ebenezer Allen and wife/wives. Like you Jack, I have been doing genealogical research, off and on, for well over 25 years and the moment I saw the info regarding Ebenezer and Abigail Hill I knew something was drastically wrong. Like you, throughout the years, I have seen the proliferation of erroneous genealogical data that is accepted and copied as if it was written in factual cement rather than looked at with a critical and deductive eye which I find quite sad for all of us who are doing genealogical research. Jack, I checked out your web site and it looks like you have done some extensive documented research on the family and since I have not had the opportunity to further investigate Ebenezer and his wife/wives since I first posted my message (which I intend to do this summer)by any chance did you look into any probate records for Zebulon Hill or his wife and/or any church, land/property records for Ebenezer and Zebulon Hill & their wives, children, etc. In lieu of other records, I sometimes find these records most informative when it comes to family relationships? Also I have another Allen which I am looking at with a critical eye. Would you have any info on a John Allen who married an Elizabeth Card who had a daughter Marysupposedly born/baptized September 20, 1741 in Marblehead, Essex County, Ma. Mary Allen married Joshua Pitman Trefry November 9, 1762 in Marblehead. John Allen and his wife Elizabeth supposedly moved to Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia with his daughter Mary and son-in-law Joshua P. Trefry. Thank you, Diane.
