Hi Lea Jack is used as a nick name for John, don't ask me why as they both have 4 letters. This was the best I could come up with at this point, and it might or night not give you some kind of a path to follow. My gggg grandparents, Nathan Allen & Mary Putnam, married in 1790, and as far as I can tell had 9 children; Mary Putnam Allen, *Nathan Prescott Allen, Lucius Henry Allen, Eliza Rebecca Allen, Arron Putnam Allen, William Rufus Allen, Sophia Mehitable Allen, Horatio P. Allen, & Augustus L. Allen.I haven't found Nathan Allen's siblings yet. My ggg grandparents, *Nathan Prescott Allen & Armena Mott, married in 1822, and had 10 children. One of them was, Armena Allen, b. 7 May 1841, in Ontario, Canada. She married 23 Sept. 1863, John McLellan. Their children were; *Nathan John Frederick McLellan, b. 10 April 1865. Armena Eliza McLellan, b. 23 July 1869. Martha Gertrude McLellan, b. 15 Oct. 1871. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Nathan John Frederick McLellan married, 10 April 1884, Lillie Ellen Stevenson. They lived in Santa Anna, Orange County, California. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Some of the Ontario Counties, my family connections are from;Middlesex, Oxford, and Lambton. If you take a look at the Ontario map at the link below, it gives a really good layout of the Counties and Townships. Because it was their custom to name children after family members, there are a lot of the same names out there, which makes it hard to figure out who is who. But then it also can help to make family connections because of the repeat names.
I don't know if you have run across this site already, but it's loaded with info. on Ontario, Canada. >> http://www.100megsfree3.com/granny1/index.htmlhttp://www.100megsfree3.com/granny1/index.html>> Granny's Genealogy Garden, #1, #2, & #3. ~~~Teri~~~
