I'm getting more and more sure that this Hiram Allen and Cynthia Allen are connected to my Columbus "Lum" H. Allen. He had a daughter named Cynthia E. Allen who married an unknown first name Wileman/Wilemon.He also named a Smith Parker as the executor of his will.
If I'm not mistaken the Cynthia Allen married to Hiram Allen was a Wofford before marrying him.She may have been married to a Cooley before marrying Hiram.Do I have the right Cynthia?
In 1880 my Columbus Allen is living in Maddox, Calhoun Co. Alabama. He is age 37 born in GA.He is married to Rachel Allen age 30 born in AL. Children are Lou Allen dau age 3, born AL, and Nancy Allen age 1 born AL.Nancy's full name was Nancy Elizabeth C. (Columbus) "Lummie" Allen. She married Rev. Rufen H. Martin. They had 11 children.
Lou Ellen Allen was my grandmother and she married Caleb Milton Ford and they had 8 children.
C. H. Allen died in 1896 and is buried in Eulaton Methodist Church Cemetery, Eulaton (Anniston) Alabama.
In his will he names two other daughters leading me to believe that he was married before, if not then he was the father of two illegimate daughters. The daughters listed in the will were Mary A. Allen, and Cyntha Wilemon/Wileman.
Other names in the will (witnesses) are Haynie and Haynes.
There were several other Allens in Calhoun Co on the 1880 census, Hudson Allen, age 78 GA; Rev. Asa F. Allen age 51 GA; Lucius L. Allen age 48 GA; Augustus Allen age 28 GA.
Can you connect any of the above Allens with your Allens?
I have narrow down my Allens to your Hiram Allen, and James Allen of Walker Co. GA.Both had a Columbus Allen in the age range. On the headstone of Columbus is looks as if the date of birth is 1848. Which would correspond to the date of birth of James Allen's Columbus. On the census it says he is 37 which would correspond with the Hiram Allen's Columbus.
I'm sure there is a connection between these Allens just can't find the piece missing.
