Please bear in mind that when Sidna Allen wrote his book in 1929 he had lost all his accumulated wealth and had spent a good many years in prison. At that point, he was probably an embittered man.
Research has pretty much determined that Sidna actually shot Judge Massie although likely accidentally while shooting at Dexter Goad.Sidna was (as he himself admitted) a rather poor pistol shot.
However, a good many of the other people killed in the tragedy were accidentally shot by law and court officers while shooting at the Allens.
Having spent a good many years researching the event for the book I wrote, plus the numerous articles in papers, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have on the event. Please email me directly please.
