Since so many of y'all are looking for Allens from GA., AL, MS, etc. I have a suggestion.Look toward this line:
Hiram Allen: He is on the 1830 through at least 1850 Jackson Co. GA census. This man had lots more children than were known from his first wife.A total of 6 sons, only one do I have a name for and that is Isom/Isham Allen. There were also three daughters, only one do I have a name for, Elizabeth. These children were born between 1820-1841 as he remarried in 1842 to Cynthia Waford/Wafford/Wofford.
By Cynthia he had 8 more children, 5 boys and 3 girls. The names of the sons were, Columbus (my line), David, Joshua, Titus G., & William Allen. The daughters were, Cynthia, Amanda (twin to David), and Vesta (Nesta on the census.)These children were born between 1843-1853.
So there are 11 sons between the two wives. That should be a lot of descendants.
I believe that he is connnected to a Titus G. F. Allen 1830 Jackson Co. GA, as Hiram named his son, born in about 1853 Titus G. Allen. Also in Jackson Co. GA on the 1830 census are a Robert Allen, between 30-40, Beverly Allen (Male) between 30-40, Isham, Alexander, Frances (free colored female with several children), and Elizabeth Allen. How these all connect I don't know.
I would like to hear from anyone researching any of these Allens.Maybe between the bunch of us we can come up with more answers. Hiram was in Jackson Co. GA on the 1830-1850 census. Don't know when they moved to Alabama, but they can be found on the 1870 Talladega Co. Al census. On the 1880 census they are living in the household of their daughter, Cynthia Allen and her husband Robert Smith Parker.
Some of these Allens may have moved on to Miss. and/or Texas. Some of the surnames that I have married into this Allen family are Lloyd, Willmon, Wiley, Roberts, Oakes, Riddle, and Ford.
