There was an Ephiram Drummond who married Mary Johnston, who had three daughters who married three sons of Capt. James "Jimmie" Wofford.
This Ephiram Drummond would have been born about 1750 give or take a few years. Why am I bringing up Woffords, well a Cynthia Waford/Wafford/Wofford (Cooley) married Hiram Allen, in Jackson Co. GA.Hiram Allen was born SC.
Hiram's son Columbus H. Allen married Rachel Lloyd who's daughter Lou Allen married Calep Milton Ford, whose grandmother was Sara Ann Wofford, father: John S. Wofford, grandfather: Nathaniel Wofford.(This Nat. Wofford was brother to the above brothers who married the Drummond girls.)
All of these Fords, Woffords, Drummonds, etc. were in and around Spartanburg SC. Not sure where in SC the Allens came from yet. That is the line I'm working on now. Some in each of these lines moved to GA. in the early 1800's, and some of each of these lines moved to AL. in the 1840-1850's. In particular in and around NE AL. (Benton/Calhoun, St. Clair, Talladega, Cleburne, Etowah, etc.) My Ford gr grandparents were born in Benton/Calhoun, as were my grandparents, as were my parents and as was I.
Hiram Allen moved to Talladega in the 1850's after 1853.His son Columbus was married the second time to my gr. grandmother in Calhoun Co. where they lived and where they died. Both are buried at Eulaton Meth. Ch. Cem. Anniston, Calhoun Co. Alabama. (really Eulaton, but mailing address is Anniston.)
I'm trying to make the Allen connection back in SC with these other ancestors.I find out more and more that the families knew each other before they moved to a particular area. Some goes back generations, in knowing each other. Were they neighbors, church connected, family connected somehow, what connection??
