There are a whole bunch of us Allen descendants that are slowly connecting our Allens together. It's possible that your James Allen may be ours also.We descend from Hiram Allen b. ca. 1796 SC.He moved to Jackson Co. Ga between 1830-40.He was in Jackson Co. GA through at least 1850.Sometime between 1850-1860 he moved to Floyd Co. GA.Between 1860-1870 he moved to Talladega Co. Al. where he is found on the 1870-1880 census.
Hiram's son Isom B. Allen had a son named James b. about 1850, Jackson Co. GA.I have nothing further on him.
Hiram had a total of at least 17 children between two wives. Don't have the names of all the sons.Son's names known are Isom (first marriage), Columbus H., David, Titus G., Joshua, & William Allen from second marriage.
Hiram was a blacksmith.
