-Michigan Civil War soldier who enlisted 11 April 1863 at the age of 18 (may have actually been 15 years old) at Tuscola Co., Michigan, 1st Cavalry-Co. IMichigan Vet.
Ca 1870 when Charles H. was 25, he married Agnes HUNKINS.
They had one child: 2 i. Mary Elizabeth “Granny” (1875-1934)

2. Mary Elizabeth “Granny” ALLEN. Born on 11 Oct 1875 in Alexandria, VA. Mary Elizabeth “Granny” died on 11 May 1934; she was 58. Occupation: homemaker.
-after her first husband Charles died, “Granny” attended county normal and became an elementary teacher.”
On 7 Nov 1898 when Mary Elizabeth “Granny” was 23, she first married Charles W. MORSE, son of John MORSE & Jane GARDNER. Born on 25 Jan 1858 in Gilford, Tuscola Co., MI. Charles W. died in at home in Akron, MI, on 27 Dec 1920; he was 62. Occupation: farmer.
-had 14 children (some died in infancy and 9 made it to adulthood) and source has a photo of their children -lived on his farm in Ellington until ca 1918 then he moved on the Gibbs farm in Akron. When he died, he left a widow, 10 children and two brothers (from his obituary)
