He was in the 23rd Tennessee Co E Infantry in the Civil War. He was killed at the Battle of Stone's River in Murfreesboro, TN. He was commended afterwards for his valor in battle. He "supposedly" is buried at a small cemetery called "Templeton Grove" or "Read"near Smyrna, about 8 miles north of the battlefield. I only have an account from the Rutherford County Historical Society's cemetery book from 1971 that he is supposedly buried there. But I have been there and there is no marker at this small cemetery for him. I am not related to him in any way, but if he is buried there I would like to get him the government marker he deserves.
Any information about this man is GREATLY appreciated!!
