I'm tracking Allens from Jackson Co. GA who moved to Talladega Co. Al.Hiram Allen had at least 9 sons born between 1820-1850 by two different wives and at least 6 daughters by the same two wives.
One of the sons, Columbus H. Allen was my great grandfather. He married twice, first wife, name unnknown but know she is connected to Butterworths and Waters. They had two daughters and on the 1880 census, these two daughters are living in the household of Elizabeth Adeline Butterworth Waters. Her husband was John W. Waters.Cynthia Emma and Mary A. are Elizabeth Adeline Butterworth's grand nieces according to John W. Waters's will.Meanwhile, Columbus H. Allen has remarried to Rachel Evelyn Lloyd in Calhoun Co. Al, and they also have two small daughters. One of these Lula "Lou" Ellen Allen was my grandmother.I believe that the first wife had died and the second wife, didn't want to raise the children from the first marriage and C. H. Allen gave them to the great aunt to raise. He did name them in his will and left them $5.00 each, when he died in 1896.
I don't know if there is a connection between your Allens and Waters and the Allens and Waters that I'm looking for or not, but I will grab at every straw.
If you have Martins in your line, that will be even more fodder.
