There is good information in the book ALLEN MEMORIAL - Descendants of Samuel Allen of Windsor, CT - Samuel Allen came on the ship in 1630 from the west of England - parentage unknown. He was the Samuel Allen who was a founder of Windsor, CT. He is not the Samuel Allen of Braintree. He is my ancestor. This Samuel Allen came on the Mary and John as part of the Dorchester Company. He was a farmer. The present day Library of Windsor, CT sits on his former property. He married Ann whose last name is unkown.
His children were: John who married Mary Hannum Samuel who married Hannah Woodford Nehemiah who married Sarah Woodford Obadiah who married two times: Elizabeth Sanford and then Mary Savage
Rebecca - single Mary - died young and unknow child b. @ 1648 or before
John who married Mary Hannum was killed in the Battle of Bloody Brook in 1675.
Samuel who married Hannah Woodford had 12 children. He died in 1719
Nehemiah who married Sarah Woodford had 9 children and was the ancestor of the famous Ethan Allen
Obadiah was adopted by Deacon Thomas Allen who had no heirs.
There has been a lot of confusion about the many Samuel Allens of the early history of MASS and CT., but the book cited above clarifies the relationships.
