This is all I have. "Florence, born May 8th, 1852. Graduated at the Normal Collage, in the City of New York, after a continuous course of study for nine years. She became a painter of great artistic merit, and her work is very much admired."
I also found in the Allen book pages I have, Horatio P. Allen's brother Augustus Lovanzo Allen married Elizabeth Seymour Ingersoll. She was the younger sister of Horatio P. Allen's wife. They had one son John Raynor born Sept. 19 1845, and died, April 9 1847.
Horatio P. Allen died Oct. 19 1894 in Bedford Park, New York, at the age of 86. He had retired about four years before his death, although his firm continued, run by his son, Augustus H. Allen and John B. Talmage.Horatio P. Allen had also been a judge.
Just keep me in mind, if you run across anyone doing research on ANY of these Allen's. I never know when the smallest piece of information can take me to something bigger. Thanks, Teri
