That was very kind of you.Quite a lot of information.
The Burr side I think I have pretty well down. There is a book on the Burrs by Charles Burr Todd which is the equivalent of the Allen Memorial book, and I have the Burr one.It gives Chauncy & Sarepta's children and some grandchildren.
Too bad about no Elisha in the Allen Memorial book, but you did provide a lot of useful info.
As to the census, Elisha is in most of them as Elisha Allen, not Allyn.I believe he is Allyn only in 1830 (West Hartford, p. 62, p. 31 at Ancestry.com).
He is in all of them (assuming it's the same person) from 1790 to 1830.In 1830 he's age 60-70 (b. betw. 1760-1770).
Perhaps he was born outside of CT, but had to be fairly young when he joined the Army.
I agree, some of the commonality of given names would suggest kinship with families that are identified.
Where did you find the CT vital records? Is there a website with that info?I know about the multi-volume series for Mass. VR up to 1850, but didn't know it was possible to access CT VR.
Thanks again, and if you need anything looked up on the Burr side, I'd be happy to oblige.
