Dave, I found a Marshall Allen married 17 Mar 1895 Center- Congregation Presbyterian Church, Normandy, Bedford, TN That sounds like about the time you mentioned - Maybe you could check Bedford County, TN on USGENWEB and post a query - Did a lot of searching but didn't find anything - even in the 1880 Census - which I checked for the counties you mentioned and Allens living there -
Didn't find any Green Burr - but saw LOTS of Greenberry (a name connected with Maryland and Greenberry Point at one time - There are names like that all through NC and GA of families that came from MD)I didn't check out Green B. But there are a lot of "Green Allen" names also - Put some queries on the county lists at USGENWEB - an ancestor of mine that was on a web site finally produced great info - and it was on the WIFE - imagine!Orpha Eldora Heath that married Dennis Collins Allen - and now I have her whole family - so keep plugging away at it - but put as much info as you can out there everywhere you can - it pays off! Another thing - try the RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS site and ask if someone could look them up in the 1900 Census for a few counties you mentioned - you might find them that way - I found my Allens, but boy, someone that answered the door didn't know much - had a whole lot of WRONG info on that census, but enough correct to know it was my family! And that was in Atlanta, GA !
