Hey Elizabeth; About the Allen's, O'Neal's, & Payne's; here's a tidbit of information relating to what you have posted here.
John Allen was a son of Jesse C. Allen, my husband's great-great-grandfather. Jesse was a son of Thomas Jefferson Allen; first to be buried in the Tumbling Creek Cemetery in Polk Co., TN. John's brother; William J. Allen, is my husband's great-grandfather. William's son; Walter L. Allen, is my husband's grandfather. Lou Payne-Allen was nicknamed "Baby or Babe". She was sister to Siddie Payne, who married G.M. "Charlie" O'Neal. Siddie and "Charlie" are my husband's great-grandparents. They had a daughter; Oma, who married Walter L. Allen.
So..., a lot of my husband's relatives, as you can see, married sisters, or brothers, of neighboring families, thus intermarrying cousins, on down the line.
My husband's father was Armer Jefferson Allen who married Allie Mae Watson. Allie's second husband is Luther Robert Payne; second cousin to Armer. Luther's father was Mancil Payne, who was brother to Siddie Payne and Lou "Baby" Payne.
I would love to exchange information about the Allen, Payne, and O'Neal families, and any other families you and my husband may be related to. Much of our information came from Luther Payne, Allie Mae Watson-Allen-Payne, Abe Allen, and the Facets of Fannin book.
