I am searching for possible 3g grandparents named Howell Allen and Anna ? Allen. This may be a long shot but any information will be appreciated. Here is what I have:
My 2g grandparents, William R. Hayes (various spellings) and his wife Sarah E. had 12 or 13 children. At present Sarah's maiden name and parents have not been identified and there is conflicting information.Death records for at least 2 of William and Sarah's sons identify their mother as Sallie Allen.
In the 1850 Wayne County Tennessee census, District 10, I first find the household of William Hayes (Hase), aged 25 born TN and Sarah aged 21 born AL.Two households away is Howell (Howel) Allen (Alen/Alem) aged 50 born NC,with two minor females, Adaline age 16 born AL and Elizabeth aged 7 born AL.In the 1850 Mortality Schedule covering the same distict I found Anna Allen (Alen) aged 45, married, born TN who died on Sept of "Fever"I think there is a good possibility that Howel and Anna might have been the parents of my great great grandmother Sarah Hayes.
While I can follow William and Sarah from 1850 to 1880 and most of their children beyond that,I can not find Howell and/or Anna prior to 1850 nor Howell, Adaline or Elizabeth after that.Nor can I find a place of burial for Anna.Any idea or help appreciated.
